Description

Neurodiversity” is an umbrella term incorporating a variety of conditions, such as dyslexia, dyspraxia and those on the autistic spectrum. The term embraces the variety in how different individuals’ brains work- including, of course, individuals within the student population.

This session explores the implications of neurodiversity for teaching practice in the current context. It explores the range of neurodiverse conditions, aiming to increase awareness and understanding. It also seeks to identify practical steps which academic staff can take to effectively support neurodiverse students, who may have varying degrees of recognition of their condition(s).

- Gain an understanding of the learning experiences of neurodiverse individuals, based on a case study approach
