Description
Want to make your teaching accessible for all students, but not sure where to begin? Then this practical one-hour session will help you to get started. Using the tried and tested principle of "K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple = Success", we will build on recent consultations with CU students which identified their top three accessibility needs.
What are the benefits?
Attendees will be able to gain practical insights into tools and resources to support the three specified needs, which they will immediately be able to incorporate into their own teaching and learning practice. In line with the principle of "K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple = Success", using these tools does not require extensive technical knowledge. All that is required is a willingness to make small changes which can have a big impact on students- and help to make practice more accessible and inclusive.
Topics covered include:
"1. Closed captioning of lectures (e.g. on platforms such as MS Teams, Echo 360)2. Accessible teaching materials (e.g. Word documents and PDFs)3. Physical access to campuses (e.g. for wheelchair users). This webinar will respond to these priorities by demonstrating key practical tools and resources that can be used to effectively support students, as well as offering an opportunity to ask questions about how best to adopt these practices.
