Description

Formative assessment is an integral part of design of learning and students’ learning journey. It not only provides you as the educator to adjust your plan of the session you are running but also provide students the chance of reflecting on their learning and collaborate with one other while learning is happening. In this workshop you will have the chance of becoming familiar with principles of formative assessment and how are they important in the design of learning. You will also have the chance to work with other participants to design some short formative assessments

What are the benefits?

After this workshop educators recognize the five stages of SOLO taxonomy and also the role and importance of formative assessments/activities in the classroom, they will also be able to use SOLO stages to design rich formative activities in their lesson planning.

Topics covered include:

 Formative assessments
 The difference between them and Summative assessments
 Spectrum of assessments and students’ learning journey
 SOLO taxonomy stages and using it for designing rich questions in the classroom
