Description

This interactive session of the Active Learning CoP, will be facilitated by Theresa Federici, Assessment and Feedback Lead, in the School of Modern Languages at Cardiff University.
This session showcases PRIME (Purposeful, Relevant, Integrated, Motivating, Empowering), an approach that integrates assessment into class teaching to further support the social construction of contextual, pragmatic, and mediatic skills within a collaborative process-driven approach to teaching. Grounded in research on language pedagogy, educational psychology, learner identity and motivation, this approach fosters awareness of diversity and supports inclusivity and accessibility for all learners.
Through persona-based activities, participants will have the opportunity to consider their own learners’ needs and discuss their own assessment practices in relation to the PRIME framework.
