Description

In this workshop we invite you to think about reading as a part of your teaching practice, considering questions such as:
• How is reading embedded into your module/course?
• How do you communicate expectations around reading to your students?
• When did you last update your reading list, what kinds of materials are on it and do students find it useful?

Through discussion with your peers and evidence-based best practice information from a librarian, you will leave the workshop with ideas for improving the reading culture in your area along with knowledge of how the library can help with this.

What are the benefits?

• An opportunity to reflect on reading within your module/course.
• An improved understanding of ways in which reading can be embedded into your module/course, with practical ideas to try out.
• Time to consider your reading list and explore ways in which to make it more impactful for students.

Who should attend?

Colleagues with an interest in developing reading culture in their curriculum.
