This interactive workshop is designed to welcome staff to the teaching community here at the Coventry University Group (CUG), and introduce them to key approaches to teaching, learning and assessment within the institution.
The aims of the workshop are to:
• Welcome staff to the Coventry University Group and its teaching community
• Network with peers and share experiences around teaching, learning and assessment
• Signpost support and resources within the institution, including development opportunities for teaching (e.g. PgCAPHE, CUFPA)
• Enable individuals to undertake action planning for
• Gain an awareness of the key support and systems available for undertaking key duties and practical tasks related to teaching and learning;
• Develop foundational knowledge of key systems, policies, and processes, and how these impact on teaching and learning practices.
• Delivered by Academic Development staff, the session will signpost academics to key contacts and resources.

Topics covered include:

• Key strategies, policies and directives which impact on your role as a teacher within CUG
• The academic year and your responsibilities
• Support for your teaching team
• Assessment at CUG
• Academic development and the support that is offered for your career development.

Who should attend?

• Academic staff with teaching responsibilities.
• The session is designed to complement Faculty/Departmental Induction, and the University’s All Staff Induction, plus resources on the Academic Development website: https://acdev.orgdev.coventry.domains/professional-development/academic-induction.
