Description

Would you like to get involved with discussions about teaching and learning...if only you had the time?
Then, nano conferences are for you! Established in 2021-22, nano conferences are a series of short sessions for sharing practice and engaging in conversations around teaching and learning. Focused on developing students' learning experiences and engaging academic practice, these 2 hour long events will run once per semester.

What are the benefits?

The nano format offers a great way to engage with a wide range of teaching and learning topics and perspectives within a short timeframe. Whether we are talking inclusivity, assessment, digital education- or something completely different! - there is bound to be something that will inspire and inform your practice.

The aim is for attendees to gain new ideas and insights from a range of perspectives on teaching, learning and assessment, and to contribute to conversations around these themes. Colleagues will have a chance to hear from staff and students from across the Coventry University Group - as well as external speakers- who will each deliver short contributions lasting only 15 minutes each.

Topics covered include:

Each nano event will offer examples of shared practice and facilitate discussion on a number of key topics related to teaching, learning, assessment, and the student experience. The programme, including a list of speakers and topics, will be published in due course on the Academic Development website. In the meantime, you can browse the Nano Conferences section of the site to see examples of previous contributions.

Who should attend?

All staff involved in teaching, learning and assessment from across the Coventry University Group are most welcome. Whether a new or experienced teacher, you will no doubt find some inspiration here! If you would like to learn more about creative approaches to Higher Education practice, and consider ways to evolve your own approaches, then please do come along- we would be delighted to see you there.
