Description

The workshop will explore how authentic assessment provides students with an opportunity to experience real-world problem-solving situations. It assists them in exercising and developing the skills and competencies they need to challenge, address and solve problems which communities and industry professionals are tackling in real workplaces.  The focus will then shift to take into consideration our diverse student body, and how we can ensure the needs of every learner are accounted for.

What are the benefits?

During this workshop you will have opportunity to:
· Critique your current assessment design against the key drivers for authentic assessment
· Consider what is meant by “inclusive” assessment and how this relates to authentic assessment.
· Consider various examples of authentic, yet inclusive, assessments.
· Start redesigning your assessment to be more authentic, inclusive and engaging in nature.
