In this session, Kate Howell, Widening Opportunities Manager in the Office of Teaching and Learning, will set out the regulatory context for work across the HE sector designed to increase access, progression and success for students from non-traditional backgrounds, and share suggestions as to how, by making small adjustments to our practice, we can make a big difference.

What are the benefits?

"By the end of the session, participants will have:
• An understanding of the regulatory context for HE’s contribution to the national Social Mobility agenda
• An awareness of the scope of the Access and Participation Plan and how this is influencing curriculum design and delivery
• An understanding of some of the barriers for learners from disadvantaged and under-represented groups
• Practical suggestions for immediate implementation
